Tuesday 29th April

Ballinrobe Town U-14 Girls

Manulla 0 - 2 Ballinrobe Town

Ballinrobe Town got there season off to a flyer with a victory away to Manulla on Tuesday last.

From the start, Ballinrobe were under pressure and it took a while for them to settle down to Manulla's early pressure. 'Town's' Hayley Munroe and Claire Maloney set the standard that this team are capable of with some good clean tackles whick lifted the team.

Ballinrobe Town opened their account on 18 mins when a ball was passed back to the Manulla goalkeeper and quick thinking from Ballinrobe striker Aoife Carroll forced the goalkeeper to hit the ball off the Ballinrobe striker and into the net.

Ballinrobe dominated the remainder of the first half. The Delargy sister's were controlling the wings with their tirelessly running up and down for the 'Robe.  Megan Seery's speed was proving to be a problem for the Manulla's defense.

To their credit Ballinrobe started the second half from where they left off with Laura Vaughan & Hayley Munroe dominating midfield and after twenty minutes into the second half it was Vaughan who ran through the Manulla defence to send her strike sizzling past the Manulla goalkeeper to give Ballinrobe a 2-0 nil lead.

On the day a great performance was put in by this promising Ballinrobe team but as such an early stage, they know that more performance like these could see them in strong contention to win the League.

On the day: Hayley Munroe & Claire Munroe were excellent in the heart of the defense for Ballinrobe.
